Who I Am
My Practice

From a young age, I knew I wanted to help others. After being approached by and working with, at the age of 18, a pre-teen who was having thoughts of suicide, I realized that I had a calling to do more with my life than just work with technology. I had initially been interested in computer technology, as I was around when computers first showed up on the scene and internet made its splash in the world. Yes, I survived the dial-up crises of the 1990's. The horror! In all seriousness, I was terrified that day, but it wasn't the first time I had dealt with someone approaching me about their mental health needs and it most definitely would not be the last. As a helper, and as most helpers know, we often find ourselves naturally in that position.
I began my journey in mental health, going after my Bachelor's in Psychology at Ferris State University in 2004, where I graduated a semester early in 2007, and moved forward to pursue a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology in 2008. Funny thing about those Master's Degree's, however, be careful about moving in the middle of them. Your new state may not be as flexible and/or as accepting of your program. As I moved from Michigan to North Dakota in 2009, nearing the end of my clinical program, North Dakota did not recognize my program and therefore, I had to transfer into a slightly similar program to graduate quickly and choose to either give up, or start over. After a few tears and a lot of contemplation (and determination), I chose to start over. I pursed my Master's in Mental Health Counseling through Capella University while I began my family, life, and career. And if I was not a glutton for punishment... I moved again! This time from North Dakota to Indiana. Thankfully, Indiana was more accepting of the program and required less than North Dakota with the transition. I sincerely do not recommend this form of 'stress test' for anyone, it is not very pleasant. I graduated with my Master's in Mental Health Counseling in 2016, received my LMHCA licensure in 2017, and my LMHC licensure in 2019. After exploring various careers within home-based therapy, intake therapy, Associate Director of an outpatient mental health clinic, and working in a substance abuse detox facility, I finally found my calling when Covid-19 happened and I began providing telehealth therapy to populations that have struggled to receive therapy in rural areas, and I haven’t looked back since.
I provide a comprehensive set of services to help boost your confidence and offer support as you navigate your personal health and wellness challenges. I work with clients closely in order to achieve measurable results that allow them to push forward with a new, positive mindset.
